Frankie Valley & The Other Four Seasons is a bizarre 1999 Academy Award Winning American Romantic Drama film written and directed by Steven Soderberg starring Chad Michael Murray, Felicity Jones, Nick Nolte, Kate Bosworth, Thomas Haden Church, Jesse Eisenberg (in his first starring role), Blythe Danner, Daniela Ruah, Bradley James, Donald Glover and Cheryl Cole (whom secured an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the film.


It concerns the tribulation love affairs between a lonely drifter man and four women named after the seasons so ironically as he is named after the lead singer of a famous 50's band to which he listens to frequently.

The film deals with love, loss, the road, one particular 50's band and the damage inflicted upon a young youth whom appears to have absolutley no ambition but to travel and find love on the back of his Tennesse Harley.

Plot[]

Frankie Valley (Chad Michael Murray) leads a troubled life.

He has no job nor home and besides from a luggage of clothing and small cassette player his only other possession is a Harley.

The film keeps the view brought into the mystery of how Frankie Valley is a homeless youth only looking for love and getting lots of it.

He loves the 50's band Frankie Valley & The Four Seasons to which he is directly named after the singer and constantly listens to their songs on his cassette player.

Frankie falls in and out of love with three women named after three of the seasons before finding final and permanent love with another season named woman (also an ironic throwback to his favourite band.)

In the end whilest with his final love he is tracked down by his father whom asks him to come home and meets his season named love.

His father had just gone through a painful divorce with his mother as she had been having an affair with his brother and Frankie's favourite uncle to which he uncovered the affair and did not tell his father instead leaving him to find out.

The overral ordeal left Frankie mentally traumatized and sent him off on his runaway across the United States finding love with four women and remaining love with only one of them.

In the end Frankie marries his love named Spring and dies of a heart attack on September 20th 1991 (the film's timeline being set in 1976.)

At Frankie's funeral all Frankie Valley & The Four Seasons songs are played and Frankie's widowed wife Spring replace marries a nice heart surgeon to whom she bears three children and raises the one son she had with Frankie himself whom is named Frankie Jr.

All three of Frankie's other loves find happiness and two get married.

All keep in contact with Spring on behalf of his death to see the son whom they were named the Godmothers of.

Frankie's father serves a good grandfather and dies of a heart attack himself come February 2nd 1995.

Frankie's Uncle remains alive and alone getting into drugs and being charged with possession come January 20th 1995.

Frankie's mother moves off to Europe and takes up with a pilot whom she bears two children to.
