Five Nightmares at Fazbear's is a survival horror game and a sequel to Five Nightmares At Freddy's.

Summary[]

A lazy and immature college student is dared by his friends into taking a nightshift job at Fazbear's Funzone for five nights but they end up regretting it when the new animatronics try to make him one of their own and secrets are getting revealed about a certain puppet that is looking vengeful.

Story[]

Evan is well aware of the affair but feels too weak to confront them.

Humans[]

  • Evan Benedict: The protagonist of the story. He's a lazy and immature 25-year-old college student whose life is getting nowhere until he is dared into working at Fazbear's and he starts to change for the better. It later turns out that he's the hit-and-run driver of a tragic prank incident gone wrong but never meant to hurt anybody and yet had no idea that he was the one responsible for causing the family to die due to Jock not caring about them.
  • Lizzy Hopkins: Evan's unfaithful girlfriend who is sick and tired of Evan's laziness and immaturity to the point of cheating on him with his best-friend Jock, who is actually worse than Evan. However, she starts to like him again when he starts to mature but he has had enough of her attitude and decides to dump her, much to her shock.
  • Jock Doushay: Evan's much worst best friend who gets him in trouble and is having an affair with Lizzy
  • More coming soon.

Animatronics[]

  • New Freddy/Teddy: The new version of Freddy and can be soft as a teddy bear but is still dangerous and is a good leader. Despite his friendliness, he doesn't tolerate Baxter for his stupidity.
  • New Bonnie/Baxter: The new version of Bonnie but unlike his original self, he's really stupid and always easily fooled, much to the gang's annoyance but Evan's amusement. He's one of the only animatronics who gets fooled by the disguise.
  • New Chica/Checky: The new version of Chica and manages to attract boys with her appearance but is still dangerous. She likes to flirt with Evan with obvious lust and also once flirted with Foxy, much to both Evan and Foxy's disgust.
  • New Foxy/Roxy: The new version of Foxy and is a girl this time. She seems to be in a relationship with Teddy and cared about Foxy. Also, she helps Evan stand up for himself.
  • The Puppet: An actual puppet that can be calmed down with music and is friendly but is sadly forced into being the new main antagonist. She has a bond with Mangle and the Balloon Twins.
  • Mangle: Foxy's old beloved who still mourns him and is still an endoskeleton but still looks beautiful and has her voice fixed while bonding with the Puppet and adopted the Balloon Twins. She's the one who attack Evan at the end before police interfered.
  • Balloon Boy/BB: Just as his name states, he's a human-like child animatronic who holds balloons. However, he has the personality of an innocent child with a younger voice and is adopted by Mangle.
  • Jay-Jay/JJ: Just like her twin brother, she's also a human-like child animatronic who also holds balloons. However, she has a bratty attitude and tries to get her brother to do stuff. And she hates being called Balloon Girl.

T.V. Tropes[]

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: The other version of Mangle called Roxy looks like a Glamrock female version of Foxy instead of the scary robotic version we usually see. Even Evan seems to think she's pretty but is not interested.
  • Adaptational Dumba**: This trope is an understatement as this new Toy Bonnie messes things up, can't even count, doesn't know how to read nor spell, and gets easily fooled. However, Evan finds this hilarious and enjoys watching these moments.
  • Adaptational Jerka**: This version of Toy Chica acts like an Alpha B***h and keeps sexually harassing Evan, who is clearly uncomfortable. Not to mention, she is very rude about Toy Bonnie's disorder, which even disgusts Evan himself.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Toy Freddy was never seen as stupid but this one is a real boss to his trio and gets annoyed with them for obvious reasons.
  • A**hole Victim: A few characters are this:
    • Lizzy Hopkins gets killed by the animatronics for cheating on Evan and not even the police care about her because they actually sympathized with Evan for that possible motive of killing her since no one liked her anyway.
    • Jock Doushay gets killed by wearing a Spring Bonnie head for too long and no one even mourns his death but instead facepalms at it in annoyance because of his stupidity and he had it coming for how he caused Evan to be at that place.
    • Seth Rogen tries to abandon Evan to save his own skin but ends up killed for it. However, Evan felt bad for him and showed no grudge for the betrayal.
    • Even Evan himself thinks that he deserves his arrest for all of his antics in the past and getting someone killed in a prank gone wrong. Because of this, he willingly turns himself in, despite that he does deserve compensation.
  • Big Bad: Circus Baby is secretly this but does act like friendly as this and actually feels bad for Evan's terrible life. She still tries to lead the group into killing him or making him one of their own but she still acts friendly.
  • Big Good: Evan Benedict is the new nightguard and is actually good at it, despite his laziness and immaturity.
  • Cameo: And what leaves a Sequel Hook, the certain moldy looking rabbit animatronic that is staring at the camera during the police investigation, obviously warning us of the third installment.
  • Character Development: Evan starts off as an unlikable protagonist but starts to become better and actually turns his life around by dumping Lizzy for cheating on him, breaking off his friendship with Jock, helping Bruce with his schoolwork, confessing to Rick, encourages Abby to show that she's a lesbian, completes Professor English's class, and proves himself to the dean.
  • Decoy Protagonist: It seems like Lizzy and Jock would be part of a main trio but they turn out to be unpleasant and unfaithful traitors who had an affair behind Evan's back and true members are Abby and Rick.
  • Downer Ending: Despite winning the game and beating the animatronics, Evan is still unable to escape from the place as they find the entrance blocked and get attacked by Mangle, which nearly ended this game abruptly. Fortunately, he survives but gets arrested because of the past prank killing an innocent family, leaving him without pay. However, he's not that upset and thinks that he at least turned his life around before his downfall while also being forgiven by the arresting officer but this still was a dark ending and Evan isn't too bothered that he's going to jail. Not to mention, a few classmates are dead and the surviving ones are too traumatized to defend him in court. Of course, this bad ending is pretty much soft compared to the endings of FNAF 4 and Sister Location, which both endings were just plain worse than this.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite Evan's original behavior, Abby forgives him and so does Bruce. They even get saddened by his wrongful arrest but he assures them that it's fine. Heck, the arresting officer also forgives him too for the past prank that killed the officer's family after finally realizing that what Evan did was an accident.
  • Even Evil Have Standards: Despite what they've done, the animatronics have this:
    • Even the animatronics think that Lizzy was in the wrong for cheating on Evan instead of telling him that she wanted to break up and they encourage Evan to dump her while they also dislike Jock for being a toxic friend that caused the events.
    • They also are disgusted with Cheeky for flirting with Evan and having ill-will intentions.
    • They are also shocked when finding out that Evan accidentally killed the innocent family from the car crash in a past prank gone wrong, which he himself is genuinely horrified to hear about.
  • Even Jerka** Have Standards: Despite how he treats Evan, even Bruce and Rick are disgusted at Lizzy and Jock for having an affair and get mad at Jock for tricking Evan into working at Fazbear's.
  • Freudian Excuse: It turns out that Evan is not the favorite of his family and is distant from them where he pulls stunts to get attention but everyone just finds him annoying and don't care about him. It doesn't help that his girlfriend and best-friend are having an affair behind his back and treats him badly.
  • Gold Digger: It turns out that Lizzy only liked Evan when he had followers on his prank channel but then ditches him when Jock becomes more popular and even finds their relationship embarrassing because of his laziness and immaturity. Now that he's getting his life back on track, she tries to make amends but he now sees through her facade and rightfully dumps her.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite being framed and arrested, Evan accepts it because he thought that his life was already terrible anyway and knows that he can't prove his innocence since the evidence against him is convincing. He even complies and goes into the police car. However, Abby still visits him and is pregnant with his child, much to his happiness. Heck, he's even doing fine in prison and made a few friends while also refusing to let anyone hurt him.
  • Hated By All: Evan thought that this was his life but he finds out that everyone just wants him to mature and they instead hate Lizzy and Jock for having an affair and using him. Heck, they were saddened by his wrongful arrest and knew he wouldn't do those crimes but he accepts it because he feels remorse
  • Hate Sink: Of course, there are a few unpleasant people:
    • Lizzie: Despite her being tired of Evan's laziness and immaturity, she herself isn't a good person at all as she's only a gold digger dating him for possible fame and she's also still cheating on him with his so-called best friend, who is way worse than him and doesn't have redeeming qualities. Heck, she doesn't even defend Evan from Jock and only shows interest when Evan matures.
    • Jock: Oh god, this guy is one of the true examples of this trope as he's not only more of a bully instead of a best friend but he's also having an affair with the said friend's girlfriend and even convinced Evan to not care about the innocent family in the past prank a long time ago due to selfish desire to stay out of jail and not caring about what happened.
    • Cheeky is also hated by everyone for being an immature Alpha Bitch and inappropriately flirting with Evan while no doubt having ill-will intentions towards him, which even Chica is confirmed to hate her.
  • Heartwarming: Despite the bad things, there are still moments like this:
    • Even before gaining maturity, Evan still scolded Jock when he went way too far, was genuinely hurt by Lizzy ignoring him for Jock, took the Dean's warning very seriously, and did try to back out of the dare to work at Fazbear's due to being aware of their reputation, showing that he wasn't completely horrible and had a chance of being likable.
    • During the job, he is very good at it and actually does great while actually respecting the animatronics and even taking the plot seriously, despite being immature at first.
    • Once Evan gains maturity, he starts successfully improving himself by giving up his love for horrible pranks, dropping his former toxic friends, apologize to his former prank victims by helping them study for graduation, and making the Dean finally proud of his progress into maturity, showing how much of a good person he's become.
    • Upon finding out about the missing children incident, not only did Evan show sympathy for them and understood their motives but he also correctly guessed Baxter as being mentally handicapped and starts treating him nicely for now on.
    • Despite his wrongful arrest at the end, he still accepts it out of guilt for what the lethal prank he did in the past and to punish himself for his past behavior, showing how much he's grown and that he deserved a happy ending.
    • When the arresting officer turns out to be the father of the late family, he has a choice to either kill Evan or still let him be in jail but he ends up forgiving him and deciding to now start questioning the arrest.
  • Hypocrite: Lizzy only cheats on Evan because she sees him as immature but she herself is having an affair with Jock, who is even more immature and irritating. She's also a whiny brat herself when things don't go her way.
  • Jerka**: In this sequel, everyone is going to be this trope:
    • Evan: Downplayed; he might indeed be a lazy and immature prankster with no concern for what he's doing with his life but he is still someone to sympathize with and is way more tolerable than his cheating girlfriend and toxic best-friend.
    • Lizzy and Jock: They are this big time towards Evan and have no consideration for his mental health whatsoever while the former cheating on him for being lazy and immature but her affair partner is way worse than him and she's just a gold digger.
  • Jerka** Has A Point: Sometimes, a Jerka** shows this:
    • Despite how wrong it is to cheat on Evan, Lizzy is not wrong in wanting him to be more mature but she still doesn't have to be mean about it and it's hypocritical since she's having an affair with an even worse manchild while being a whiny brat herself.
    • The Dean is sometimes unfair to Evan and even dismissal of him but is not wrong to criticize him for his immaturity and lack of focus. However, he does still show concern for Evan's dangerous situation in a horrible workplace, protested against the arrest, scolded Jock for starting all of this, and actually tried to sue Fazbear's for putting his student in danger, showing that he doesn't really hate him but just wants him to be a better person and understood that Evan does want to be better now.
  • Never Trust A Trailer: More like don't trust a summary as not only is Jock the one who made the dare but he also doesn't regret it one bit and treats it like an innocent joke.
  • Sequel Hook: As the police were uncovering more footage, they get worried to find a certain moldy-looking rabbit staring at the camera before the screen turns black and to the end credits, which we will all know what that means.
  • Tearjerker: Not only is Evan's life miserable due to a neglectful family, toxic friends, unfaithful girlfriend, and even a life-threatening job but his own arrest at the end is still saddening and even the people at his college are upset by this too.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: We're supposed to be understanding of Evan being an unlikable outcast but this only makes him sympathetic and it is painful that his own girlfriend and best-friend were having an affair behind his back. Even that prank he once did in the past was clearly an accident and he is genuinely horrified that the prank was the one that killed the innocent family that died in the car crash. His own arrest is even sad to look at because he turned himself in out of guilt for what he did. Not to mention, his own family are horrible and hard to understand at all.
  • Yandere: Cheeky becomes one towards Evan and wants him all to herself, much to his understandable displeasure.
