Westron, also known as the Common Tongue, and the Common Tongue of the Andals, is the language spoken through the Nine Kingdoms, and the closest thing to the universal language of Arda. Deriving from the name of its homecontinent, Westeros, it was introduced in by the Andals during their invasion of Westeros six thousand years in the past.
