The Southern Rocky Mountain wolf (Canis lupus youngi) is a subspecies of gray wolf that is found throughout the Rocky Mountain region from Northern Utah and Southern Wyoming, south through Utah and Western Colorado, Northern Arizona and Northern New Mexico, Central Nevada and as far south as the Providence Mountains in Southern California and was once extinct, but but has since been back from extinction by SciiFii and reintroduced to Southern Wyoming, Western Colorado to Northern Arizona and Northern New Mexico. The Southern Rocky Mountain wolf mainly preys on bison, but they also feed on elk, deer, pronghorns, javelinas, and other large prey. The conservation status of the Southern Rocky Mountain wolf is Endangered due to habitat loss and minor poaching, but conservationists are working to protect the Southern Rocky Mountain wolf from extinction. They are often kept in zoos and breeding programs.
