Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force

Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force is a crossover free-to-play mobile app for iOS, iPadOS and Android devices where it was published by Nintendo and developed by Bandai Namco, Sora Ltd. and King (from the makers of Candy Crush Saga). This Super Smash Bros. mobile game was first teased at the end of the Nintendo Direct on Kwanzaa (December 26, 2020) and was fully revealed on February 5, 2021. This mobile app has been released on April 23, 2021. Like Mario Kart Tour, Fire Emblem Heroes and many other free-to-play mobile apps, Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force requires an internet connection and a Nintendo Account to play this mobile app.

Gameplay[]

Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force is heavily based on the Super Smash Bros. franchise on Nintendo systems. When starting up the mobile app for the first time and before visiting the main menu, players must summon the Android Phone Mascot itself, Bugdroid along with the Mii Fighters based on a Brawler, Swordfighter and Gunner and an Ace-class fighter for free to use during gameplay. The Mii Fighters and Bugdroid can be customized in the Customization Menu. During gameplay, players can fight opponents by tapping on the enemy and the player will get closer to them to attack. When performing a smash attack and a special move, players must use the following commands as of the previous Super Smash Bros. games. Players can use the control pad on the touch screen to move. Pressing the A button initiates normal attacks, while using the control pad and the A button initiates smash attacks. Pressing the B button initiates a neutral special move. Using the control pad for the side, up and down directions along with the B button initiates the side, up and down special moves. Pressing the L button initiates a grab. The player can perform a throw using the control pad. The R button activates the shield just by holding it. The player can also activate the shield by holding the L button. During gameplay, Smash card boxes (in their style as item boxes from the Mario Kart series) can now appear for players to use. Players can pick up items by going near one and press A. There are various types of Smash cards. The Red card initiates increased power of smash attacks. The Yellow card initiates powerful special moves. The Green card initiates helpful items such as a Beam Sword and a Ray Gun. The Blue card involves performing a Final Smash. After a random amount of time has passed and the character's icon has been filled up, players can tap on the character's icon to have the blue card reveal itself. The fifth and final card is the rainbow card, which involves performing a Team Final Smash. The rainbow card can be revealed when the player has two or three characters alive and after collecting all of letters from the red, yellow, green and blue cards that spell out S-M-A-S-H. Before gameplay, players can now perform the fusion technique on their favorite characters using the power of each spirits, support items and many other characters in common. Fusing characters can only be featured in the Fusion Chamber. When summoning a character in the Summon Chamber, players can use Smash Tokens to summon their favorite characters who appear from each Super Smash Bros. game to train and fuse their favorite characters. Players who have a Nintendo Account and any of the following accounts such as Google and Facebook can link their account to the mobile app to prevent their progress from being automatically deleted. As of the version 1.2.0 update, players can now play this game offline, even if they are not connected to the internet. But they will keep earning the number of XP to level up according to the CPU's difficulty level when playing Solo mode battles.

Characters[]

When starting up this mobile app, players start out as three Mii Fighters based on a Brawler, Swordfighter and Gunner and Bugdroid along with a healthy sum of Smash Tokens. Other playable characters besides the Mii Fighter variants and Bugdroid can be obtained by summoning in the Summon Chamber. Each character has a rating of either a Novice, Advanced, Ace or Legend. As of the two Super Smash Flash games, fourth-party characters such as Goku (from the Dragon Ball series) and Ichigo Kurosaki (from the Bleach series) join forces in this fighting mobile app. In the Fusion Chamber, players can now fuse their characters with the power of spirits and many other characters (similar to fusing two monsters to become one powerful monster in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise where players known as duelists use the Polymerization card). For example on the first method, fusing a playable character such as Mario with the Smoky Progg spirit will both become Smoky Mario. Another method is combining a character with a support item. For example, fusing Sonic with the Chaos Emeralds support item turns him into Super Sonic (as of his Final Smash). On the third method, fusing two ordinary characters such as Pyra and Mythra will both eventually become Pneuma. And on the fourth method, fusing two spirits such as Tiki (in her young age) and Naga will both become Nagi, one of the fusion assist characters. The same thing happens when fusing a spirit and an item such as Young Zelda and the Triforce item turns Young Zelda into the Adult Zelda, who is playable from Ocarina of Time. Lastly, fusing two spirits into one playable character such as fusing two Touhou Project spirit characters Byakuren Hijiri and Sumireko Usami to combine into Bayonetta (in her classic costume from the original Bayonetta), a fully playable character. Any characters that were combined with another character, spirit or a support item will eventually be stored in the Fusion Characters list. In the version 1.2.0 update, players can now obtain characters by scanning their amiibo and its cards using a Bluetooth amiibo scanner. Various palette swap characters such as the ones for Bowser Jr., Olimar and Corrin are now standalone fighters.

Invincible enemies such as a Zinger and Gastly must be avoided in order for players to prevent themselves from taking damage, unless using a Super Star can instantly defeat them. Getting KO'd in Mob Smash will result in losing points rather than ending this mode. Enemies of Mob Smash can only be found on Battlefield form stages.

Explosive Tag	Naruto	Throwing	Attaches to an opponent when thrown. It will then start rapidly burning from the bottom, and once it is fully on fire, it will explode.
Firework	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	This item can be thrown to then explode and divide into multiple fireworks.
Ice Flower	Super Mario	Shooting	Hold this and freeze your foes in ice. The blizzard doesn't land forever, though, so don't waste it.
Item Bag	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Releases five random items when thrown. If no items are enabled, it will do nothing. It can also damage opponents when thrown at them.
Medusa Head	Castlevania	Throwing	Flies back and forth in a wave-like pattern after being thrown. It will hit opponents that happen to be in its path.
Mountain Dew	Mountain Dew	Effect	Drinking this soda brand increases the player's movement speed for a short time.
Pepsi	Pepsi	Recovery	Drinking this soda brand will slowly recover damage by 5% for a short time.
Poison Bomb	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Throwing this item gains the ability to release a cloud of poisonous green gas that deals poisonous damage to any players who make contact with it.

Beam Sword	Super Smash Bros.	Battering	Attack with a beam sword. The stronger the attack, the longer the blade gets!
Beastball	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Throw it, and it will disappear in the air then reappear near an opponent, covered in flames.
Beehive	Animal Crossing	Throwing	A swarm of bees will emerge, mobbing a fighter and dealing damage to them bit by bit.
Beetle	The Legend of Zelda	Throwing	Throw it toward an enemy and, if it hits, it'll grab on and drag them upward. The higher their damage, the harder it is to break free!
Black Hole	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Throw it to create a black hole that will draw in fighters and items.
Blast Box	Super Smash Bros.	Exploding	Watch out—if you do too much damage to this, it'll go BOOM! It'll blow up instantly if ignited, too!

Cucco	The Legend of Zelda	Throwing	Cuccos will wander around the stage, minding their own business. If you're heartless enough to attack one, you deserve what you get.
Daybreak Parts	Kid Icarus	Combining	Construct this huge weapon by collecting its three parts, then use its powerful beam attack!
Death's Scythe	Castlevania	Battering	A tilt or smash attack with this brutal weapon will KO opponents who have high damage.
Deku Nut	The Legend of Zelda	Throwing	This little nut exploding on impact, dazing fighters on the ground and launching those who are airborne.
Dragoon Parts	Kirby	Combining	Collect all three parts to assemble the Dragoon, and then unleash a powerful attack!
Drill	Super Smash Bros.	Shooting	Fire this to send a drill bit shooting across the stage, pushing enemies out and away. You can then throw the base!
Fairy Bottle	The Legend of Zelda	Recovery	This item will only heal a fighter who has taken more than 100% damage. Don't throw it at a badly injured enemy!
Fan	Super Smash Bros.	Battering	An item that is the weakest among each and every battering item. It can be used consecutive times to trap opponents to accumulate their damage.
Fire Bar	Super Mario	Battering	This weapon has a long reach, but it'll get shorter the more hits you land with it.
Fire Flower	Super Mario	Shooting	Hold this and bathe your foes in flame. The fire doesn't land forever, though, so don't waste it.
Flipper	Balloon Fight	Throwing	This item stays in place when thrown. It starts spinning on contact, damaging opponents and even the user if they come in contact with it.
Food	Super Smash Bros.	Recovery	Eat some to heal a little damage! Different foods will heal for different amounts.
Franklin Badge	EarthBound	Gear	If you wear this, it reflects all projectile attacks from your foes.
Freezie	Super Mario	Throwing	An item that slowly slides on the ground. If thrown, anyone hit by it will be frozen in ice for a time.
Golden Hammer	Wrecking Crew	Battering	Attack quickly over and over and over. Press jump repeatedly to float through the air, too!
Gooey Bomb	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	This bomb goes off shortly after sticking to something. If that something is you, brush the bomb onto someone else! Fast!
Grass	Super Mario	Carrying	Pluck this from the ground and some kind of items appear.
Green Shell	Super Mario	Throwing	Attack or throw the Green Shell to send it sliding across the ground!
Gust Bellows	The Legend of Zelda	Shooting	Blow enemies away with this item. It's great for ruining someone's recovery, but it's easily blocked by shields.
Hammer	Donkey Kong	Battering	Once you start, you can't stop swinging this item, even if the hammer's head pops off. Oops!
Healing Field	Super Smash Bros.	Recovery	This item will create a healing field on the ground. Stand on it to slowly heal.
Healing Sprout	Super Smash Bros.	Recovery	This item will slowly heal whomever it is stuck to. It can be transferred to another fighter through contact.
Heart Container	The Legend of Zelda	Recovery	This removes 100% damage from your counter! Grab it before your foes get to it!
Hocotate Bomb	Pikmin	Throwing	This spaceship-turned-bomb will soar skyward, returning a short time later to blow up on its launch site.
Home-Run Bat	Super Smash Bros.	Battering	Use a side smash to send a foe flying for the fences. It's tricky to land, but it has lots of attack power!
Hothead	Super Mario	Throwing	A fireball that grows when attacked. It will move around the stage, growing bigger from fire or electric attacks.
Killer Eye	Kid Icarus	Throwing	A stationary cannon that shoots out damaging beams. You can change its direction by hitting it.
Killing Edge	Fire Emblem	Battering	If you attack when the sword glows, the damage and launch power will be doubled.
Lightning	Super Mario	Transforming	Grab this to make the other fighters shrink—unless it backfires and either shrinks you or makes your opponents bigger instead!
Lip's Stick	Panel de Pon	Battering	Attacking with this makes an energy-sapping flower bloom on your opponent's head!
Master Ball	Pokémon	Helping	Summon a Mythical or Legendary Pokémon! Much more valuable than a regular Poké Ball.
Maxim Tomato	Kirby	Recovery	A tomato with a big M on it. When eaten, it will remove 50% damage from your counter.
Metal Box	Super Mario	Transforming	Turns you into metal. Light attacks won't make you flinch, and you'll be tough to launch—but you'll fall faster.
Motion-Sensor Bomb	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Once placed on the battlefield, this small bomb will go off the moment anyone gets too close.
Mr. Saturn	EarthBound	Throwing	Throwing Mr. Saturn won't deal much damage, be he'll annihilate any shield he hits.
Ore Club	Kid Icarus	Battering	Swing this to perform an incredibly strong attack. Side smash attacks will create a whirlwind effect.
Party Ball	Super Smash Bros.	Carrying	This ball will float up into the air, play a little tune, and then release a bunch of items.
Pitfall	Animal Crossing	Throwing	This creates a hidden pitfall, trapping anyone who steps on it in the ground, unable to move.
Poison Mushroom	Super Mario	Transforming	Running into one of those mushrooms shrinks you, making you less powerful and easier to launch.
Poké Ball	Pokémon	Helping	Summon a random Pokémon to team up with you against your foes!
POW Block	Super Mario	Throwing	Hit it or throw it to launch everyone on the ground into the air. It only has three uses, so POW wisely!
Rage Blaster	Super Smash Bros.	Shooting	This item grows stronger if the user has taken lots of damage. A great way to make a comeback!
Ramblin' Evil Mushroom	EarthBound	Shooting	Opponents hit with enough of these spores will grow a mushroom, reversing their left and right controls.
Ray Gun	Super Smash Bros.	Shooting	Fires a fast moving shot that can knock enemies backward and into the air. Land multiple blows to really break their spirit.
Red Shell	Super Mario	Throwing	Attack or throw the Red Shell to send it sliding across the ground, homing in on opponents! This item does NOT fall off ledges.
Rocket Belt	Pilotwings	Gear	While wearing this, hold up or hold the jump button to fly straight up in the air. You'll refuel automatically on the ground.
Rolling Crate	Super Smash Bros.	Carrying	It may look like a regular old box, but it isn't. It has wheels!
Screw Attack	Metroid	Gear	Pick this up, and you'll be able to do Screw Attacks when you jump.
Smart Bomb	Star Fox	Throwing	A bomb that creates a massive explosion, hurting anyone caught in the blast. Unless it's a dud. Then nothing happens.
Smoke Ball	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	After being thrown, this item will roll around on the ground or stick to opponents. The smoke makes it hard to see the battle.
Soccer Ball	Super Smash Bros.	Throwing	Give it a good kick, and watch the ball burst into flames! You can't pick it up, though—that's a foul.
Special Flag	Rally X	Effect	Hold this high and gain +1 KO (in a time battle), +1 stock (in a stock battle) or 500 coins (in a coin battle).
Spiny Shell	Super Mario	Throwing	If you throw this, it'll seek out the player with the highest score (that isn't you), then slam down and explode on them!
Staff	Kid Icarus	Shooting	This weapon fires a laser that deals more damage if the target is farther away.
Star Rod	Kirby	Battering	Side smash attacks and side tilt attacks will make this item fire star-shaped projectiles.
Steel Diver	Steel Diver	Shooting	Give the torpedo a second and it'll shoot off at high speed. Quick, subtle, destructive.
Super Launch Star	Super Mario	Effect	Throw it to create a star-shaped gat which will launch fighters that enter it.
Super Leaf	Super Mario	Gear	Hold up or hold the jump button while wearing this to hover with the help of a very fuzzy tail!
Super Mushroom	Super Mario	Transforming	Touching this will make you giant, increasing your attack power and making you tough to lauch.
Super Scope	Super Scope	Shooting	Fire rapidly by pressing the button quickly, or hold the button to charge up! The fully charged shot is powerful!
Super Star	Super Mario	Transforming	If you touch one of them, you'll be invincible for 10 seconds, Woot!
Superspicy Curry	Kirby	Transforming	A spiciness out of this world! You'll constantly breathe fire from your mouth!
Timer	Super Smash Bros.	Transforming	This item slows down everyone except the player who collects it...except when it backfires, of course.
Unira	Clu Clu Land	Throwing	It will reveal its dangerous spikes after being placed. It sticks to walls, too!
Warp Star	Kirby	Transforming	Sends you shooting up, then back down for a devastating attack. Aim your landing with left or right and adjust the timing with up or down.
X Bomb	Kid Icarus	Throwing	The blast from this bomb will go in four directions. It can go vertically and horizontally, or diagonally.

Special and Fusion Characters[]

These special characters can be revealed after using the correct fighter and either a spirit, a magical item or both. The player's special/fusion character will have the attack and defense power increase for that character.

Background Stages[]

Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force has a wide load of stages originated from each Super Smash Bros. game. This time each playable background stage will have one single music theme as of the original Super Smash Bros. Trivia[]

This is the only Super Smash Bros. installment to:
- Have this video game as a mobile app to be released on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
- Have this mobile app get developed by King, the company that made Candy Crush Saga.
- Not feature the Smash Ball item since its debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the Fake Smash Ball since its debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
- Have players fuse their own characters to make powerful ones.
- Have fourth-party characters return from the two games, Super Smash Flash 1 and 2.
- Feature a setting for character-only and Smash retro victory themes for some of the playable characters.
- Feature new voice providers for Bowser, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, King K. Rool, Olimar, Alph, Mega Man and Pac-Man.
- Have item boxes (originated from the Mario Kart franchise) appear during the battle.
Characters such as the Koopalings, Female Corrin, Alph and the Inkling Boy are now standalone characters.
The following stages, Mushroomy Kingdom, Dream Land (GB), Mementos and Balloon Fight each have their own standalone stages.
Besides Bowser, Ridley and King K. Rool, other villain characters such as Ganondorf, King Dedede and Wolf now have their own victory themes.
- Although, characters who are fused together do NOT have a victory theme, but rather use the Mii Fighters and Sandbag's victory theme.
- As of this mobile app, Kazuya gets his own victory theme sampled from Tekken 2's character select theme.
Bart Simpson and Chris Griffin from The Simpsons and Family Guy franchises were said to become playable characters, however they were eventually scrapped and replaced with Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin, two longtime fighters from the exact franchises who previously appeared in the M.U.G.E.N franchise. Although, Bart Simpson is still confirmed as an assist trophy character.
On December 26, 2020, the teaser trailer for Super Smash Bros. Fusion Force first aired on Utopia One during a marathon of Icons where the teaser trailer was shown at the end of the episode, The Super Smash Bros. Franchise. On January 2, 2021, the same thing happened on Touhou Genesis where one of the TV episodes was interrupted at 12:35 PM to show the trailer for this mobile app.
