Paranogmius (SciiFii)

The African river dolphinfish (Paranogmius sciifii) is a species of prehistoric bony fish that originally lived in Africa during the Cenomanian epoch of the Cretaceous and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and introduced to the modern lakes and rivers across Africa to help boost biodiversity. Despite its name, it is not related to the mahi-mahi, which is oftentimes called the dolphinfish, and instead it is most closely related to the tarpons. The African river dolphinfish are opportunistic, feeding on smaller fish, crustaceans, and even plants rarely. They mainly feed on freshwater prawns, herring-like freshwater schooling fish, and bony breams, but also many other small fish. It is a very large fish, growing to be around 3.5-4 meters (11-13 feet) long weigh around 400-500 pounds when fully grown. It is a solitary animal in most of its life except during breeding seasons, when males search for females to mate with to ensure their species' further survival. The conservation status of the African river dolphinfish is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts and the African river dolphinfish's wide range.
