Mortal Kombat Trilogy Deluxe is a 2D fighting video game developed by Warner Bros. Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios. It contains all of the fighters from the previous Mortal Kombat games developed by Midway. This game is for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Ultimatum Max.

Gameplay[]

Mortal Kombat Trilogy Deluxe is an updated version of the original Mortal Kombat Trilogy. This fighting game contains all of the fighters in various variants from MK1, MK2, MK3, UMK3, MKT and MKMSZ. This game features new finishers, exclusive stages (only for Nintendo Switch), and Kombat Tunes where the player can change the music from previous Mortal Kombat games on all stages (similar to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series where the player changes the music on Brawl, for 3DS / Wii U and Ultimate).

Game Modes[]

  • Versus Kombat (1-on-1, 2-on-2)

Returning Finishers[]

  • Babality (blocking against certain attacks will disable this finisher; turns the losing opponent into an infant based on the exact character)
  • Brutality (allows a player to pull off an extraordinarily long and rapid combo to kill an opponent)
  • Fatality (the only finisher returning from each Mortal Kombat game)
  • Friendship (blocking against certain attacks will disable this finisher; allows the player's fighter to perform an act of kindness and goodwill towards their helpless opponent instead of killing them after winning the match)

New Finishers[]

NOTE: Some are from previous Mortal Kombat games.

  • Faction Kill (allows the victorious player's character to call in their respective faction to finish off their opponent)
  • Hara-Kiri (allows the losing opponent to cause their own death by using an input combination similar to performing a Fatality)
  • Humiliation (inspired by Rare's Killer Instinct franchise; makes the losing opponent do a humiliating dance; similar to various "Friendship" dance moves)
  • Pokémality (inspired by Nintendo's Pokémon franchise, exclusive to Nintendo Switch where the player's fighter can turn into a Pokémon to finish off the opponent; similar to the Animality)

Trivia[]

  • This is the first Mortal Kombat game to have exclusive Nintendo content on the Nintendo Switch (exclusive stages and the Pokémality finisher).
  • Scorpion and Sheeva are the only two characters to have their animal transformations swapped during an Animality, with Scorpion turning into a giant scorpion and Sheeva turning into a penguin.
  • Nightwolf and Shadow Lady are the only two characters who transform during their friendship animation.
  • Although, completing Arcade mode with a boss character during a glitch shows the ending of the character the player has selected.
