Panthalassa Island is a large island off the coast of Canada. It formed around 500,000 years ago when an undersea volcano erupted and formed a landmass that became larger than Greenland or Madagascar combined. The island has vast open grasslands, temperate forests, mountainous regions and a large lake that contain hundreds of species of native fish and amphibians. The island also contains a wide range of nonnative species from other continents that were introduced between mid-1800s and early 1900s, by scientists who were testing if they could survive in a North American ecosystem, but as a result of their introduction, they managed to adapt and didn't cause the extinctions of some animals native only to Panthalassa Island.
