Anthracotherium (SciiFii)

An anthrac (Anthracotherium amphibious) is a species of artiodactyl ungulate mammal characterized by having 44 teeth, with five semi-crescentic cusps on the crowns of the upper molars, and was once extinct, living from the Early Eocene to Early Miocene in what is now Eurasia, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and introduced to modern Eurasia and North America to help boost biodiversity. Depending on a subspecies, it can grow to about the size of a pig to about the size of a subadult hippopotamus, with the North American subspecies being the biggest due to more abundant food sources in North America than in Eurasia. It is an amphibious herbivore that mainly feeds on grasses, roots, tubers, and aquatic plants, filling a similar ecological niche to hippopotamuses, the closest relative to Anthracotheres such as anthracs. Unlike hippopotamuses, however, all known anthrac subspecies are gentle giants and are completely tame towards people due to SciiFii's genetic engineering on anthracs before they were brought back from extinction, so they are considered as nonaggressive mammalian ducks or mammalian geese. The conservation status of anthracs is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, their widespread range, their tolerance to man-made pollutions, and their ability to adapt to cities and suburbs, mainly living in parks and park lakes alongside the ducks and geese.
