Ameranthropoides loysi (SciiFii)

The American ape-monkey (Ameranthropoides loysi), also known as the Dey Loy's monkey and, inaccurately, Dey Loy's ape, is a species of ape-like monkey that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the rainforests and swamps across South America to help boost biodiversity. Despite its ape-like appearance, including its lack of tail unlike most monkeys (and very much like apes), it is not an ape and is in fact a monkey closely related to spider monkeys, it only resembles an Old World ape due to convergent evolution. The American ape-monkey is a rather large animal, growing to be about the size of a African common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes) in both height and weight, making it one of the world's largest New World monkey. Due to the lack of its tail, it has stronger climbing muscles on its limbs and more manipulative hands and feet so it can climb trees more efficiently without a tail of most monkeys. The American ape-monkey is an omnivore that primarily feeds on fruits, nuts, insects, eggs, small reptiles, small birds, small mammals, and carrion. It is a social troop-dwelling animal that lives in groups of around 25 led by a dominant male, having a similar lifecycle and lifestyle similar to true apes such as chimpanzees and gorillas. The conservation status of the American ape-monkey is Vulnerable due to some habitat loss and historic poaching, however, the conservationists have since protected American ape-monkey and its natural habitats.
