Exit Strategy is a 1999 American Thriller written and directed by Tim Burton starring Johnny Depp, Joan Cusack, Reese Witherspoon, Colin Farrell, Bobcat Goldtwait, Kelly Preston, Emilio Estevez, Scott Adkins, Alicia Silverstone, Emily Browning and Helena Bonham Carter.

The film is inspired by the likes of Agatha Christie's classic tale And Then There Were None, Murder On The Orient Express and The Mousetrap (Also a story by Agatha Christie).

The film is centrally shot in Yorkshire, England at the large Castle Howard estate which serves as the film's eponymous Mansion and basically only location.

The film is very similiar to the following 2003 thriller film from James Mangold Identity which concerns a killer containing 10 personalities in his head stranded at a Desert Motel during a rainstorm being picked off one by one, in Burton's Exit Strategy the film oversees a group of people stranded at a Mansion due to a Windstorm being picked off one by one but instead of the twist being personalities the characters being killed are indeed soul re-inactments of people who have already been killed.

The Mansion is indeed dilepidated and not for sale anymore following one of them killing the others three years ago and the killings continously repeat within his head as a result of his soul.
