A New Anarchist is the tenth episode of Batman: Shadow War's season one. It introduces a young anarchist and terrorist known as Anarky.

Plot[]

A television broadcast was placed in Gotham City across all networks, because of a new terrorist named Anarky who plans to destroy all corrupt and crimes in the streets of Gotham. Anarky has managed to set off one bomb in the city's streets with numerous citizens being killed and many has been injured, the police arrived to investigate the scene along with firetrucks and ambulances. Anarky returns saying this shall continue until his demands of destroying all bad in Gotham comes true; even claiming he'll surpass Batman as the true hero of Gotham City. Captain James Gordon, in his mind, despite his mission to actually capture Batman, hopes the Dark Knight himself will save the city and stop Anarky.

Gordon sees a shadow of Batman through the night but doesn't tell anyone, the Dark Knight conducts a secret investigation on the scene discovering what type of bomb it is until Anarky interrupted his investigation with another broadcast. Anarky demands to see Batman and claims a bomb on one of the rooftops of an occupied building is set to explode but can be disarmed by Batman. If it explodes, it shows Batman isn't the hero he thinks himself to be. Batman arrives and disarms it in time; causing Anarky behind him to clap his hand and the two exchange words with Anarky claiming he'll be the better hero and calls in his group of armed henchmen to fire at Batman allowing Anarky to escape. Batman manages to escape using the Batwing and follows Anarky, placing a tracker on him then flies away.

In Wayne Manor, Bruce Wayne discusses the matter with Alfred Pennyworth that Anarky is no terrorist to be messed with, and claims he'll bring him down though and explains his methods are wrong as well as that his trying to prove something. On the news, it claims that some equipment and chemicals have been stolen from GothCorp as well as a murder being placed there. Batman goes to investigate the murder as well as communicating with Alfred to research on the Batcomputer, with blood being on the ground from the murder victim and discovers it was caused by a stabbing in the neck, as well as some blood left behind from the killer which is revealed to be Anarky himself: Lonnie Machin.

During his broadcast that he'll use a GothCorp weapon to release a poison gas mixed with an large explosion that will massively damage Gotham City and kill thousands; unless his demands are met of beginning the authorization on the police and Batman to start executing criminals and the criminally insane as well as corrupt officials and dirty cops. However, Batman interrupts this by discovering his hideout and defeats his goons while Anarky prepares the death machine. When Anarky is about to press the button, Batman throws a Batarang to disarm him and punches him across the face, breaking his mask and revealing his face. After the two discuss their methods on how to make the city safe, Batman ultimately disapproves of his methods which Anarky mutters it's a shame because he was thinking of becoming allies, then a goon ambushes and restrains Batman while Anarky pulls out his knife in an attempt to kill him. However, Batman kicks him away and uses tear gas to stop his ambusher, then knocks him out in an uppercut. Anarky swipes his knife at Batman, causing the Dark Knight to grab him and cuff him.
