Plot

Two years after the events of the first film, Vanellope von Schweetz and Judy Hopps are now friends. Vanellope often grabs coffee for Judy on the way, but Judy worries Vanellope is working too hard and needs to be more mature. Suddenly, a stampede of animals from the zoo run through the streets in fear of a mysterious stranger. The two are invited by the police chief Jim Knight to find the long-lost Golden Snowflake in the jungles of Africa. He sends them to be accompanied by his daughter Molly Knight, a jungle explorer, and her pet Zaku, a scarlet macaw. Unwilling to be near any carnivores, Judy objects but reluctantly agrees. Lakota is plotting to get there first and pollute the jungle. It is later revealed that Lakota's days as a child in which he was one of Molly's friends, but Molly adopted Zaku and ultimately forgot him. Enraged, he attacked them, but was tranquilized.

Vanellope, Judy, Molly, and Zaku attempt to zip through the jungle via a zip cord, but fall to a river, where they almost fall over the edge of the waterfall but are rescued by an anaconda who claims to be a friend of Jim's. Suddenly, the branch snaps beneath Anaconda's weight, and the four fall, though they survive. They later come across Terrible Tom the Giant, who refuses to let them go through his gate, revealing he prevents any more visitors to protect his gate following the destruction of King Eagle's palace during the events of the first film. As soon as they sneak through the gate, the enraged Tom goes on a rampage and chases them until he falls into a ditch. They approach the ancient ruins, where they find the Golden Snowflake, but suddenly, Lakota and his men arrive, revealing that Anaconda was really Lakota's minion all along. Lakota kidnaps Judy and Zaku and ejects Vanellope and Molly. When Vanellope refuses to leave Judy behind, Molly tells her the adventure is over. Hurt, Vanellope declares she was wrong about Molly and storms off into the jungle.

Meanwhile, Woody, Hank, and the Aliens learn from Jim about the expedition and set off to Africa to find Vanellope and Judy. In the ruins, Lakota imprisons Judy and Zaku. When Vanellope arrives, Lakota makes fun of her, making Vanellope regret what she said during her argument with Molly. Vanellope frees Judy, Zaku, and the captive animals. When Lakota prepares to kill Vanellope, Molly swings from a vine. Vanellope and Molly apologize for their falling-out and reconcile. As the jungle catches on fire, Lakota attacks Vanellope, injuring Judy's leg. Vanellope is thrown into the fire, seemingly killing her and Zaku. The good guys mourn for Vanellope, who is suddenly revealed to have been saved by Zaku.

Vanellope, thinking quickly, fights Anaconda and treks through the dangerous fire. Lakota seemingly spears Vanellope, but she reveals that he needs to work on his aim and throws him. Molly cuts the down a tree, which falls on Lakota, killing him. The fire is put out, flourishing the jungle, and Judy apologizes to Molly for not trusting her. Everyone leaves the jungle with the Golden Snowflake. Judy's leg eventually begins to heal along the way. Judy develop a better relationship with Molly and writes autobiographies based on their adventure in the jungle. Vanellope, Judy, Molly, Zaku, Jim, Woody, Hank, and the Aliens dance to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", ending the film.
