The dire dog (Speothocanis dirus), also known the false wolf and the dire bush dog, is a species of canid that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii and introduced throughout the savannas, grasslands, mountains, forests and woodlands throughout North America to help boost biodiversity.
Despite being very similar to a gray wolf in size, appearance, and build, it is not a wolf at all, but is closely related to the bush dogs, and like them, it has webbed feet for hunting any prey in and around the water. Dire dogs live in packs that consists of 12 members in a single pack, but large packs of 20 are not uncommon. They are known to prey upon large ungulates such as elk, moose, bison, deer, etc.
The conservation status of the dire dog is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts and the dire dog's wide range.
