Digimon: A Million Points of Lights — Part 1 is an American science fiction fantasy action film directed by Len Wiseman and written and produced by Drew Gars. It is the first of two cinematic parts based on the anime series of the same name. The film, which is the sixth installment of the live action Digimon film series. It stars Dylan Minnette, Ty Sympkins, Noah Crawford, Mason Cook, Haliee Steinfeld, Joey King, Ansel Elgort, Josh Hutcherson, Asa Butterfield, Bella Thorne, Robert Sheehan, Liana Liberato, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jennifer Anniston and Peter Serafinowicz; with Tom Cruise, Jennifer Garner, Emma Watson, Ken Watanabe, Simon Pegg, Liam Neeson, Zach Woods and Samuel L. Plot

As summer vacation starts to begin, wild Digimon and Control Spires start appearing all over the world. The DigiDestined decide to go all around the world to team up with DigiDestined youths in different locations to send the Digimon back to the Digital World. Not only that, they also have to face an enemy who is responsible for this, assassinations on those who knew about the Myotismon attack and the reason Ken became the Digimon Emperor.

Digimon Partners

  • Derek Stephen Price voices Veemon, a 2-feet tall humanoid lizard-like creature. He has mostly blue skin, with a white belly and mouth. Veemon's head is large and roughly sphere, with two conical fleshy appendages attached to the back, possibly acting as ears. A small horn pokes where his nose would be. He is assigned as Davis' Digimon partner. DemiVeemon is Veemon's In-Training form.
- Doug Jones as Flamedramon (motion capture), the "Fire of Courage", is the form that Veemon takes when he armor digivolves using the Digi-Egg of Courage.
- Steve Blum voices Flamedramon. Raidramon, the "Storm of Friendship", is formed from Veemon digivolving with the Digi-Egg of Friendship.

Industrial Light & Magic was chosen to create the visual effects for the first film and the second film. Hongo and Gars hired Oscar winners John Knoll and Hal T. Hickel, both known for their work on the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the Pirates of the Caribbean films. Legacy Effects was hired to do the special and practical effects on the film. Shane Mahan, known for creating the armored suits for Iron Man, was hired on as effects supervisor. John Rosengrant was also brought in for his work on Real Steel. Oscar winner Clay Pinney, known for his work on Independence Day and Star Trek, was also brought on board. Hybride Technologies, a division of Ubisoft, and Rodeo FX also contributed to the visual effects music: hero by skrillet and digimon theme song.

Casting

On January, casting began by Gars offering a main supporting role to Anne Hathaway. Sarah Michelle Gellar was in talks to join the film's cast, revealed by Gars in February. Hiroyuki Sanada was set to reprise the role of Yukio Owikawa in March. On March, Gars confirmed via Twitter about the returning of Samuel L. Jackson to play her previous role in the third film, Quincey Miles. Tom Cruise and Jennifer Garner were also set to reprise their original roles from the previous films. Emma Stone signed on to star in the film in April. Tyler Perry's casting as the new President of the United States was confirmed in May. In that same month, Tim Blake Nelson was cast as the Secretary of Defense.
