Dice Productions (originally founded as Audrey Wells Animation Studios) is an American animation studio founded in 2011 by Audrey Wells and based in Los Angeles, California. It is a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Studios, a division of Disney Entertainment, a segment of The Walt Disney Company. They debuted in 2012 with the short film Dylan Dice, which was acclaimed and nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. Dylan Dice garnered Disney's attention, and Disney bought Audrey Wells Animation Studios in September 30, 2013, and later renamed it to Dice Productions in December 13 of that same year.
Dice's first film was Vanellope & Friends on October 21, 2016. Their first sequel, Vanellope & Friends: Christmas, was released on December 1, 2017. Vanellope & Friends: Time Travel is the studio's highest-grossing film, with a total of 1.918 billion worldwide. Films produced by Dice have currently grossed a total of $15.368 billion worldwide.
Dice's most recent release was Vanellope & Friends: Halloween on October 18, 2024. Its upcoming slate of films includes Kenya Kes Remington on April 25, 2025, Vanellope & Friends: Ocean on September 10, 2025, Front Desk on January 30, 2026, Critters 3 on April 17, 2026, an untitled 10th anniversary Vanellope & Friends film on October 21, 2026, Vanellope & Friends: Circus on April 7, 2027, Zoob 2 on August 27, 2027, Vanellope & Friends: Big City Vacation on January 28, 2028, Critters 4 on September 8, 2028, Kenya Kes Remington 2 on January 30, 2029, Vanellope & Friends: Outer Space on April 13, 2029, and Vanellope Ever After on January 30, 2030. Dice Productions was founded and based in Los Angeles, California on October 25, 2011 as Audrey Wells Animation Studios. After the release of the short film Dylan Dice in 2012, Disney's attention was attracted by Audrey Wells Animation Studios, which was then purchased by Disney on September 30, 2013 for a total of $1.7 billion and later renamed Dice Productions in December of that same year.
The first film from Dice was Vanellope & Friends, which started the studio's flagship series, the Vanellope & Friends franchise.
