The dewgong (Phocacunicornis pokevus) is a species of large predatory seal that originally did not exist, but has since been created by SciiFii due to demands for real life Pokémon-like animals from Pokémon fans, and unlike most pinnipeds, dewgongs make good pets due to their docile and tame nature as well as having a wide meaty diet. However, they have been released to the shorelines and freshwater habitats across Great Britian, mainland Eurasia, and North America by some careless pet owners. The dewgong is a rather large animal that can grow to be about the size of an Antarctic leopard seal (Hydrurga leptonyx), growing up to around 2.4–3.5 meters (7.9–11.5 ft) and weigh 200 to 600 kilograms (440 to 1,320 lb). It is a carnivore that primarily feeds on other pinnipeds, cephalopods, krill, birds and fish, but it is a common prey for polar bears and killer whales. Its white-colored fur helps it to blend in with its natural environment while hunting some land prey such as auks (including puffins, great auks, etc), other pinnipeds, and even polar bear cubs. In the water, it uses its sensitive eyes, whiskers, and hearing in order to locate terrestrial or aquatic prey items, on land, it is also able to locate prey by smelling, even if the prey is more than 5 miles away. The female dewgongs have no horns, unlike male dewgongs, which have a single unicorn-like horn on the tops of their heads, mainly used for fighting other males to win a right to mate. Most dewgongs live in solitary lives, with the exceptions during breeding seasons and/or if the dewgong is a caring mother of its cubs, which are also known as seels. The conservation status of the dewgong is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts, the dewgong's wide range, and its tolerance to most of human activities, including being able to flourish and adapt to life in the coastal cities and suburbs, even including public beaches and seal docks.
