Dakotadon modernus (name meaning "modern Dakota lizard") is a species of large iguanodont dinosaur that originally lived from the Barremian-age Lower Cretaceous Lakota Formation of South Dakota, USA, and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and now lives in the Cretaceous Safari tour in Cretaceous Park located at Sacramento, California. Dakotadon modernus is quadrupedal most of its time, but can run on its back legs to run away from any potential danger. It is a herbivore and mainly feeds on fruits, leaves, nuts, cycads, ferns, and horsetails. Just like some of its relatives, Dakotadon modernus has a thumb spike and can use them for defense or for males fighting others during mating seasons. It is a herd-dwelling animal and can live in groups up to about 30-35 at a time.
