The DC Cinematic Universe 2.0 (DCCU 2.0) is a media franchise and shared fictional universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, based on characters that appear in publications by DC Comics . It was established using crossovers between various superhero films released by DC since 2018.
DC Cinematic Universe 2.0 started in 2018 with the film, Batman: Gotham Knight and ended in 2032 with the film, Justice League: The Last Stand.
The DCCU 2.0 is a reboot to DC Cinematic Universe. The reason why Warner Bros and DC reboot it is because after the release of Justice League Zack Snyder decided to quit the franchise to work on his upcoming big budget movies that will be distributed by Universal Pictures and Paramount and end the franchise by cancelling it. And the contract said if Zack Snyder quits the franchise, the franchise is over and because of that Warner Bros and DC are decided to reboot the franchise.
In August 2016, the director of Classified, Daniel Jameson gave his concept of his Batman movie and his Batman movie takes place before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in Ben Affleck's Batman early days. Warner Bros loved the idea but first they must ask for Zack Snyder's approval. After Warner Bros approach Zack Snyder, he told them that he has decided to cancelled his DC Cinematic Universe because he had to work on his upcoming big budget movies that will be distributed by Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures.
And after that Warner Bros told Jameson that they approved his request to make a Batman movie but they told Jameson to change the concept into a new and fresh Batman story (Not Ben Affleck's Batman story) because Zack Snyder has cancelled the DC Cinematic Universe. And after the release of Batman: Gotham Knight, DC Cinematic Universe 2.0 was born.
