Man of Tomorrow (2017)

Man of Tomorrow is the first film debuting Superman and is released on November 11 2017. It revolves around the Kryptonian civil war at the beginning and Kal-El's parents send Kal-El off from his homeworld before it's destruction, sending him to Earth where he crash lands on Smallville, being adopted as Clark Kent to the Kent family. Flashbacks of Clark's childhood and life in Smallville are incrementally revealed, detailing his struggle of adapting to Earth and attempts to reconcile his extraodinary abilities. Years later as a teenager, Clark saves numerous of his fellow students when their school is on fire, causing his abilities to exposed.

Years later, Clark travels around North America searching on his path and eventually gets a job at a diner in Canada. There, he hears some soldiers talking quietly about some object they found and a thug begins harassing one of the waitresses, causing Clark to warn him to stop so the thug begins taunting him. The thug then punches Clark, injuring his hand in the process and flees. Lois Lane, reporter of the Daily Planet newspaper, lands at the base in Canada where the investigation of the object is taking place. In the ice, they find a green rock called Kryptonite and also meets Lex Luthor who is running the drilling operations. After hearing of this, Clark eventually goes alone and is weakened by Kryptonite, keeping away from it with Louis watching him. Lois then goes to the rock, confused but curious, and after that, she discovers a ship with a corpse inside. Eventually, a sentry bot attacks her and she screams, so Clark quickly goes to her and destroys the bot, then saves Lois by cauterizing the wound with his heat vision.

Lois writes up on the story and Clark eventually finds a home in the ice, creating his own, and uses a device from the spaceship which contains a hologram of his father; who reveals that the nature of Kal-El's birth was the embodiment of the belief of aspiring to greater things. Further exploring the ship, Clark finds a dark blue and red uniform that will symbolize his mission: to help the people of Earth and act as their guardian. Stepping outside the ship, Kal-El begins to push his powers: first taking flying leaps, before eventually being able to fly at great speeds, breaking the sound barrier.

Lois manages to track down Lois to his Fortress of Solitude, with the two conversing and Clark reveals himself to be a Kryptonian and his past and abilities. Kal wants Lois to keep their conversion and her discovery a secret, so Lois respects his wishes and drops her story. Lois and Kal then head to Metropolis and Kal discovers numerous criminal operations risking many innocent lives, so Kal names himself Superman and foils them while saving innocents. Luthor takes a look at security tapes to discover the mysterious man and his powers, with Luthor being confused at this hero. With Superman continuing to do good in Metropolis, Luthor eventually decides to go toe-to-toe with him for both foiling his business criminal plans and feeling threatened by the alien race. Luthor eventually decides to capture and hold his adoptive parents hostage after uncovering Superman's identity, leading to Jonathan Kent's death but Martha is rescued and Superman becomes enraged at the evil villain as well as Luthor discovering Superman's greatest weakness: Kryptonite.

Luthor then plants a bomb at the Daily Planet in a plan to frame Superman for such a crime, but before he could detonate it, Superman disarms the bomb and saves Lois and many other lives. Finding the Kryptonian spaceship found in the ice, Luthor manages to create Doomsday by cloning many dead alien babies from using Kryptonian DNA as well as his for the ultimate killing machine to be used against Superman.

Superman confronts Luthor and demands him to give up for his evil deeds, but Luthor uses Kryptonite against Superman and then unleashes Doomsday on him after claiming Superman must die for which Luthor believes is the greater good. After the intense battle between both Kryptonian gladiators, but this ends when Superman manages to defeat Doomsday by using a weapon that Luthor created, a spear made of Kryptonite, to impale Doomsday. After this, Luthor is exposed for his crimes and arrested and Superman is realized by the people as a hero. Clark then returns to Smallville, where he and Martha visits Jonathan's grave, and Clark begins his job as a reporter at the Daily Planet to blend as a human.
