Critters 2 is a 2019 American animated musical adventure comedy film produced by Dice Productions and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Aaron Springer and Thor Freudenthal, the film is the sequel to 2017's Critters, the second installment in the Critters film series, and Dice's first sequel outside of the Vanellope & Friends franchise. James Corden, Mindy Kaling, Jason Segel, Kristoff St. John, Zach Galifianakis, M. Night Shyamalan, and Russi Taylor reprise their roles from the first film, while new additions to the cast including Denzel Washington, Idris Elba, Clive Owen, Tom Wilkinson, Kelly Preston, and Olivia Newton-John voice the new characters introduced. In the film, Lemy, Batty, Burrows, and the critters discover Critter Woods is divided from other lands, each populated by a different population of wild animals, and are invited to a supposedly "peaceful" union by a scorpion, who, unbeknownst to them, secretly holds dark intentions.
Critters 2 premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on August 23, 2019, and was released theatrically in the United States on August 30, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. This was one of the last Dice films Audrey Wells was involved and credited in, due to her death in October 2018, as well as the final film role for St. John, Taylor, Kristofferson, and Preston, as they all passed away before or after the film's release. It grossed $1.430 billion worldwide against its $200 million budget, becoming the highest-grossing Critters film and the fifth highest-grossing film of 2019. Critters 2 received generally positive reviews from critics. A sequel, Critters 3, were released on August 27, 2027.
