The leopard whale (Coronodon leopardus) is a species of toothed mysticetes that originally lived from the Early Oligocene Ashley Formation of South Carolina and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and introduced to the modern Atlantic Ocean to restore the declining biodiversity. This whale is a basal, if not the most basal, mysticete found, having characteristics of both toothed whales and baleen whales. Unlike most other mysticetes, leopard whales have no baleen, instead, they are normally predators of medium-to-large fish, as well as smaller whales, and small sea turtles, filling the ecological roles similar to Antarctic leopard seals, hence its name. However, they also filterfeed with the help of their molars, very similar to baleen whales. The conservation status of the leopard whale is Least Concern due to successful conservation efforts.
