Compile Heart vs. Marvel Universe (コンパイルハート vs. マーベル・ユニバース, Konpairu hāto vs. Māberu yunibāsu) is a 2.5D crossover fighting game co-developed by Compile Heart, Idea Factory, Marvel Games, Capcom, and Felistella. The game features characters from both Compile Heart's video game franchises and comic book series published by Marvel Comics. It was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows in August 10, 2024.
The game was produced by Mike Evans, who had previously worked on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which also utilizes Unreal Engine 4. In addition to more gameplay modifications and new playable characters, the game features several aesthetic changes.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay and its graphics are similar to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, as matches can be made either into solo battles or tag battles (2-on-2). It will have aerial combos, Hyper Combos, and other original gameplay systems.
- Tag-Team Battles: Players can switch between two characters in battle, combining moves and strategies. This allows for dynamic team-ups and combo attacks.
- Special Abilities: Characters use unique abilities from their respective universes. Marvel characters might have superpowers and gadgets, while Compile Heart characters use RPG-style special moves and skills.
- Ultimate Moves: Each character has a powerful ultimate move or finisher that reflects their signature abilities.
- Costumes and Skins: Players can unlock or purchase alternate costumes for characters, including themed outfits that reflect the crossover nature of the game.
- Special Effects: Customizable visual effects for abilities and attacks, blending elements from both Marvel and Compile Heart aesthetics.
Story[]
A mysterious force, perhaps an ancient entity or a cosmic anomaly, merges the Marvel Universe with the Compile Heart realms. The Marvel characters find themselves in the vibrant, anime-inspired world of Compile Heart, while the Compile Heart characters are thrust into the gritty, superhero-laden reality of Marvel. The characters must navigate these strange new worlds, deal with their rivalries, and uncover the true reason behind this cosmic entanglement.

The soundtrack's genre's are varied with orchestral music, rock, electronic, metal and symphonic pieces. It will also use popular tunes from both properties such as Perfect Purple from Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed and Portals from Avengers: Endgame.
Note[]
- Similar to Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, instead of displaying the names of the winning fighters when the match ends, this game uses the more traditional "You Win" and "You Lose" messages that are used in the Street Fighter series, and for 2-player games, the game says "Player 1 Wins" or "Player 2 Wins," depending on which player won the match.
- In a similar fashion as with Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Marvel characters have dual-voice options that can be toggled per character, while all of the Compile Heart characters are voiced exclusively in Japanese. According to the developers, this was done due to budget concerns.
- After beating the game's story, a memorabilia of Marvel creator Stan Lee is shown before the credits.
