The central main line is the primary rail line in Trainz Northwest. It is the busiest rail line in the Willamette Valley and is the one that most trains travel on. It is also 1 of 2 main lines in the Willamette Valley, with the other one being the Westside main line.

Description[]

In the show, the part of the central main line that is seen runs between Portland and Eugene, specifically between Portland Union Station and Eugene station. However, the actual extent of the central main line goes as far north as canada and as far south as southern California. As implied in its name, the central main line travels thru the central part of the Willamette Valley. The line has lots of stations, yards, industries, and branch lines along it.

Portrayal in the Show[]

The central main line is the primary rail line that is seen in the show, with most trains having worked on the main line in some form, with the exception of Wes, Cabcar and Rdc, who work on a commuter rail line that is restricted to the westside main line. The central main line is served by both the Portland-Eugene express train and the Long Distance express train along the full Willamette Valley part of the main line. Additionally, the Portland Shuttle train travels along the northernmost part of the main line from Portland union station to just north of Oregon City, where it branches off onto a seperate line. The central main line has many sections of single and double track portions of the line.
