American singer and songwriter Lauren Jauregui has released five singles (including one as a featured artist), one promotional single and six music videos. In December 2016, Jauregui featured on Marian Hill's song "Back to Me". She later featured on Halsey's same-sex song "Strangers", a promotional single from Halsey's album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom (2017). Billboard noted "Strangers" as a "long-overdue bisexual milestone in mainstream music". In November 2017, Jauregui released the song "All Night" with Steve Aoki, included on his album Neon Future III (2018). "All Night" was Jauregui's first release as a primary songwriter and lead singer. She also produced the vocals on the track.
In late 2017, Jauregui began working on her debut solo album. Jauregui released her debut solo single "Cut You Off", on January 5, 2018 under Columbia Records. The song peaked at number 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming her first top twenty single as a solo artist. The single experienced worldwide success, reaching the top twenty in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden and the United Kingdom, among others. She released the R&B ballad, "Expectations", as the second single from her album on April 20, 2018. The song peaked at number 28 on the Hot 100 and number 15 on the US Pop Songs chart. "More Than That" was released as the album's third single on August 10, 2018, alongside the Coastline EP. The three singles are all expected to be featured on Jauregui's debut album, the title and release date of which is unconfirmed but is expected to feature another collaboration between Jauregui and Halsey and be released in early 2019. She was the opening act for Halsey's Latin American leg of her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom World Tour in June 2018, where she performed a number of unreleased songs including "Toy" and "Inside" among others.
Jauregui's debut extended play, Coastline, is set to be released on August 10, 2018.
