Bruce Wayne is a variant of the Earth-012Y Bruce Wayne, created when the timeline was split off by Brother Eye's time travelling.

Bruce Wayne took inspiration from the Gray Ghost series he watched as a kid to become Batman.
Batman encountered a successor, Terry McGinnis, from the future who warned him and the Justice League that Brother Eye, an AI that Bruce Wayne had created in his own time, had gone back to wipe out the Justice League after failing to do so in the future. To get round the fact that Brother Eye wouldn't exist without Wayne to create him, the AI tried to inject him with nanomachines that would allow him to control Wayne to keep him out of the crossfire and to later make him create Brother Eye. Batman was able to escape and helped the Justice League defeat Brother Eye. With Terry's help, Batman was able to capture the Joker and Harley Quinn before they could brainwash Tim Drake into becoming a future Joker. Terry also told Wayne not to push people away.
