Blade: Nightfall is an upcoming action horror film directed and written by Mark Pitt. Starring Wesley Snipes, Dakota Fanning and Gary Oldman, and will be set eight years after the other films in the Blade series.
Summary
The summary is said to revolve around Blade discovering the Nightstalkers, a group of vampires who join together as a gang, ruling the streets of New York. Blade must stop them, before they turn everybody else into Vampires. The movie will also feature an unnamed actor as Blade's pupil, who is learning under him.
Delay
Mark Pitt had tried to make a new Blade film since 2009. However, David S.Goyer had no intentions for a sequel. Mark Pitt told E!: "Yeah, and David, you know, he didn't want to do it. He already had finished with the series, and didn't want to do a new one. I told him 'Look, if you don't sign on, me and Lionsgate will do the film ourselfs.' But, i think it will do good. Hardcore Blade fans will be proud that we don't hold back. I mean, we're not doing a Twilight film here people. This will be for the real vampire movie fans."
Wesley Snipes has also stated that the movie feels less like a sequel, but more like a much-needed reboot. " The other Blade films... they got nothing on this one." Wesley has talked about working with Gary Oldman. "Gary... what do you say? I mean, you're working in a vampire movie, with a legend of an actor, who has played Dracula before! So, it's been fun..."
Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds who portrayed Abigail Whistler and Hannibal King in the third installment is rumored to return for the fourth.
Wesley has since released that the film is indeed on Post-Production, and will be out soon.
Chloe Grace Moretz was star to play Erica Barlow, but it went to Dakota Fanning.
