- ❝ Horton: It doesn't matter if they're good or evil. They're here to dominate us. They will fight for the right to rule us. And one day, that is what they will do.❞
- ―Billy believed what Horton said.
William Kelly, simply known as Billy, is a minor antagonist in Roland Cain's fanfiction, Highlander: The Avenger, serving as the secondary antagonist of the chapter "The Darkness" in Book 2: Highlander vs. Hunter.
He was a rookie Watcher turned Hunter, part of a group of renegade Watchers who were killing Immortals. He worked with Pallin Wolf and Lionel Madson during his short service.
Prologue[]

Wolf and Billy stalk Duncan.
Little was known of Billy’s earlier life before his recruitment into the Hunters by James Horton. The Hunters were a cult-like faction of renegade Watchers that saw Immortals as abominations and were hellbent on killing every last one of them. Unlike Wolf, he and Madson really believed the things that Horton told them.
In 1993, Horton, operating from the shadows, had the trio kidnap a loved one of an Immortal to lure them into a trap. One of the victims was Immortal James Vincent, who was also the pupil and surrogate son of Owen MacLeod and secretly Horton’s archenemy.
Big Mistake[]

Billy escapes the MacLeods.
After killing Vincent, Wolf took Billy to a gypsy café, where he chose Duncan MacLeod, Owen’s father as the next victim, seeing him proposing to his girlfriend, Tessa Noël. What Wolf and Billy were unaware of, was that Owen was there and looking for Vincent. He was also hunting the Hunters to avenge Darius' death at Horton's hand.
The next day, Billy lured Duncan and Owen away from Tessa, so that Wolf could take her hostage, and draw Duncan to them. After getting far enough away, Madson swooped in and got Billy to safety.
Death[]

Billy's corpse.
Hours later, he tried to lure Duncan to Wolf's house where they planned to kill him. But he came across Owen instead. Billy ran, trying to escape the angry Immortal, but Owen caught up to him on a fire escape. Owen made it clear he was hunting the Hunters to avenge Darius, leading to Billy pulling a knife to defend himself. Owen pulled out his own knife and using his more advanced knife skills, Owen forced Billy to take a fatal fall from the fire escape. He hit the concrete ground hard, breaking every bone in his body.
- ❝ Owen: One less Hunter to worry about.❞
- ―Billy's death is mocked by Owen.
Legacy[]

Wolf joins Billy in death.
Wolf intended to avenge Billy's death by killing Owen. But his tactic would be countered and he would lose his life at Owen’s hand, while Duncan ended up killing Madson. With Wolf's death, Billy's own death was in vain and Horton and the Hunters suffered a severe blow from Owen.
Despite not being seen or explicitly mentioned by Hugh Fitzcairn in the Duncan-less timeline, it is safe to assume that Billy was one of the corrupted Owen and Lynn Horton's victims in their war against the Hunters.
Personality[]
Billy was noted by Wolf to have believed everything Horton taught him and was determined to ensure that no Immortal ever took the Prize meant for the last one of their kind. It was believed that this Immortal would gain power over the entire world. However, like Horton, Billy was a coward, only running to keep an Immortal busy. He also only used his knife to increase his chances of escaping. He seemed to have a friendship with Wolf, as the latter was enraged by the former's death at the hands of the younger Highlander.
Appearance[]
Billy was a young man of average height in his early to mid 20s, with dark black hair, tan skin and brown eyes. He wore glasses to help himself see. When scouting at the gypsy café, he wore a dark shirt jacket and dark pants. When luring the MacLeods away, he wore a black shirt with white stripes and jeans. Before his death, he added a black jacket to his look.
Weaponry[]
Billy had a knife hidden on his person, but his skills were amateur. When he fought Owen, the Highlander bested him easily and threw him to his death.

Trivia[]
- Despite being the secondary antagonist of the chapter, Billy never said any lines and was not credited, leaving his actor unknown.
- The full name, William Kelly, was completely made by Cain to make Billy more of a person than a throwaway character.
