Beelzebufo modernii (name meaning "modern Beelzebub's toad") is a species of frog that originally lived in what is now Madagascar during the Late Cretaceous and was once extinct, but has since been brought back from extinction by SciiFii and now lives in Cretaceous Park located in Sacramento, California. Beelzebufo modernii is a large frog, about the size of the largest known African bullfrogs, and, despite its appearance, it is not closely related to native modern horned frogs, only distantly related, thus the appearance of Beelzebufo modernii is likely due to convergent evolution. Unlike most other frogs, Beelzebufo modernii lacks the long sticky tongue, instead, it hunts smaller animals by ambushing in a manner similar to native modern horned frogs. It has some scutes on its body like the original species of Beelzebufo, for protection against any possible predators. Due to its tameness and being easy to keep, feed, breed, and clean, some of SciiFii's Beelzebufo modernii are being considered as pets like native modern horned frogs.
