Bear in the Big Blue House: The Animated Series is a American-Canadian animated spinoff based off Bear in the Big Blue House that produced by The Jim Henson Company, Shadow Projects, Funbag Animation Studios (season 1-6), imX Communications (season 1-6), PIP Animation Services (season 1-6), Helix Digital Inc (season 7-9), and MetaFrame Studios, it premiered on September 11, 2001 until September 29, 2010, it is aired on the Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior block on Disney Channel and on the Disney Junior Channel starting from March 23, 2012 until May 7, 2022.

Production[]

In 1998, Shadow Projects and The Jim Henson Company teamed up with Funbag, imX, PIP and MetaFrame Studios to produced a "animated" version of Bear in the Big Blue House.

In 1999, The companies screened the pilot episode in MIPCOM Jr. 1999.

Development begin January 2000-May 2001.

The overseas animation are were done by Disk-in Animation and New Media in Israel (season 1-2), Studio B Productions in Canada (season 2-4) and Cinezone Studios in Israel (season 4-9), the other overseas animation services are were done in South Korea (AKOM, Dong Woo Animation, Saerom Animation, Rough Draft Studios, Sunwoo Entertainment), India (Inditoon Studios, Pentamedia Graphics), Poland (Se-ma-for), Japan (Toei Animation, CoMix Waves Inc.), and China (Hong Ying Animation, Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Hong Guang Animation), the storyboards are were done by Collideascope (season 1-7) and Studio B Productions (season 8-9) while CGI Animation was done by Ernest Chan, Crest Animation (season 1-3), and Industrial Brothers (season 4-9).

One month until the development, teaser trailer was screened in MultiExpo 2001 in Honganiemi, Dryicor.

Playhouse Disney announced that a new season for September will begin with this brand new show.

Teaser promo aired in August 29, 2001.
