Baal (sometimes spelled Bael, Baël (French), Baell) is one of the seven Princes of Hell, representing Gluttony, and is mentioned widely in the Old Testament as the primary pagan idol of the Phoenicians, often associated with the pagan goddess Ashtaroth.
Baal is often deemed a Christian Demon and, according to most Grimoires and books on Demonology, is one of the highest ranked and principal rulers of Hell alongside Lucifer. Many say his dominion is of the East and that he is most powerful on Earth during the month of October.
Appearance[]
Baal can assume any form he wishes thanks to his shapechanging abilities, though his principal form is of a pale, dark-haired man with red and orange, slitted eyes and a maw gaping with rows of fangs. He tends to favour the colours red and black, and will decorate his palaces and temples with such colours as he sees fit though not always as he can grow dull to them.
Personality[]
An almost cosmic entity with powers as vast reaching as his dominion, Baal entertains himself with acts of sin of almost any variety, be it lust, destruction, and war. He will often manipulate entire civilizations simply for his amusement and often partakes in doing so alongside Leviathan, inviting him over to his palace on occasion to commit atrocity across global fields.
Love means little to him, apart from Ashtaroth, his bride and the holder of the Qliphoth Key. Apart from that, Baal has bedded countless across his lifespan due to Demonic promiscuity. His favourite type of female tend to be dark-skinned and fairly youthful.
Baal loves conquering other worlds and dominating other peoples. He will often create avatars of himself and plant them in separate worlds, establishing identities as one of the people and, on a whim, surprising them with his true persona and displays of his vast power through these avatars.
Because of his omnipotence, Baal has displayed great intellect and philosophical disputes during confrontations with others. He challenges things that are demonized as "good" and "evil", and loves trying to make his point a truth. When others challenge his ideals, he grows annoyed and strives to change their mind through crushing what they love.
Baal seems to hold a grudging respect for his fellow Princes, especially Lucifer. He longs to destroy him and become the most powerful being in all of Hell, but is unnable to do so because of Lucifer's immunity to the Qliphoth and trying to use Hellpods on him would only destroy all of Hell.
Abilities[]
- Invulnerability: Being a Devil Lord, Baal can phase through or deflect or even regenerate from most forms of attack, though Holy ones notably can hurt him if they succeed in hitting.
