The religion is centered on the Askari, a pantheon of divine lions believed to embody fundamental forces of the universe. Each Askari represents a specific aspect of existence, such as nature, time, courage, knowledge, and community. Together, they are viewed as guardians of cosmic balance rather than absolute rulers over humanity.

Followers believe the Askari originated in a sacred region located between present-day Kenya and Tanzania, often described in religious tradition as the First Plains. This land is considered the birthplace of both humanity and the divine lions.

Unlike monotheistic traditions, Askarianism does not emphasize submission to a single god, but rather respect, balance, and harmony with all divine forces.
