The Asian zebra is a subspecies of zebra that is native to much of the Asian grasslands, rather than African savannahs or grasslands. It is normally a herbivore that feeds off of grass, roots, and tubers, but rarely feeds off of fruits and leaves. It resembles a hybrid between a common zebra and Grevy's zebra, both from Africa, but the Asian zebra is only about the size of a common zebra. Like (almost) all other zebra subspecies, they live in large herds for protection against predators.
