In both the canon Arthur franchise and the fanon Arthur: All Grown Up TV show, it has been shown that Arthur Read and Francine Frensky have crushes on each other.

Hints (canon)

• In the Arthur book Arthur’s Valentine, Francine called Arthur’s valentine to Sue Ellen Armstrong “mushy” because Francine wanted Arthur to send the valentine to her instead.
• In the 1998 Arthur episode And Now Lets Talk To Some Kids, Francine and Arthur were shown as a married couple at the end of the episode.
• In the 2001 book Arthur’s First Kiss, Francine attempted to kiss Arthur but failed.
• In the 2009 episode Matchmaker Matchbreaker, Francine asked Arthur if he wrote some “nice” things about her.
