Arctic cats are modern-day descendants of the extinct Smilodon, a saber-toothed cat or (inaccurately), a saber-toothed tiger. Their ancestors migrated from North America to Greenland and northern Canada. They resemble their ancestors, but they have polar bear-like bodies and without their saber teeth, and they have a snow leopard-like coat. Their prey are reindeer, Canadian geese, seals, deer, whale carcasses, and dylanuses. Their rivals are polar bears, orcas, American killer dylanuses, wolves, etc. Unlike their fully-terrestrial ancestors, they have polar bear-like legs adapted for swimming. They are the same size as the extinct Andrewsarchus, thus making them the largest living mammalian land predator. They are an endangered species due to global warming.
