The Anime Sound Effects Library is a sound effects library that was created by Sound Ideas on February 1, 1984.
Produced by Japanese sound editors Tomoko Kujirai, Noriyuki Ayukawa, Masako Kumagai, Shizuo Kurahashi, Hideyo Sasaki, Yukiyoshi Itokawa, Keiko Miyagi, Michihiro Itō and Kazutoshi Sato, this library showcases a very large set of sound effects from anime series and films throughout the history (ripped from Fizz Sound Creation, Swara Productions, E&M Planning Center and Anime Sound Production, as well as Toyo Sound, Fukushima Sound and T.E.O.), from 1963's Astro Boy to the more contemporary series and films of the time. It has been used by other anime studios such as Sunrise, Nippon Animation, Toei Animation, TMS Entertainment, Studio Ghibli, A.P.P.P., AIC, Tatsunoko Production, Shin-Ei Animation, Pierrot, Gallop, Tezuka Productions, Group TAC, Ajia-do Animation Works and Xebec, as well as Studio Fantasia, Kitty Films, Gainax and Production I.G.
Many of its sound effects are currently used in modern media today, including Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures' anime films and Technicolor Sound Services (formerly Weddington Productions) which also used this library for their projects as well.
