American Southern Mammoth

A herd of American northern mammoths in a savanna-like scrublands in northern California.

The American southern mammoth is a species of mammoth that is descended from the prehistoric mammoth, either an imperial mammoth or a Columbian mammoth, that survived the Pleistocene/Holocene extinction event. They are herbivores that feed on mostly grass. They resemble their ancestors of the Ice Age. They live on the grasslands and savannahs of North America. They are very similar to their neighbors, the American Northern Mammoth.
