American northern mammoth is a species of mammoth descended from the prehistoric mammoth, either an imperial mammoth or a Columbian mammoth, that survived the Pleistocene/Holocene extinction event. They are herbivores that feed on mostly grass. They resemble their ancestors of the Ice Age. They live on the grasslands and savannahs of North America. They are very similar to their neighbors, the American Southern Mammoth.
