American Horror Story: Invasion is the ninth season of the FX horror anthology television series American Horror Story. It was announced on January 12, 2017, and premiered on September 12, 2019

Returning cast members from previous seasons include Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Angela Basset, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Billie Lourd, Alexandra Daddario, Lady Gaga, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Finn Wittrock, Naomi Grossman, Lizzie Brochere, Cody Fern, Emma Bell and Mare Winningham.

New cast additions include Abigail Breslin, Ellen Wong, Russ Tamblyn, Glynn Turman, Christian Navarro and Ryan Guzman.

The plot centres around present day 2019 and the 1940's, the primary setting being the famous Area 51 in the Nevada Desert.

Plot[]

A group of wayward individuals are thrust together and confined to the infamous installation of Area 51 following an initial alien invasion in New Mexico.

  1. Crash Landing:

In 1947 Sergeant Aldis, a scientist Whittmyer and a disgruntled mother arrive at the scene of a crash landing. The mother in distress attacks Aldis over the death of her child, Aldis and his men are killed by a bipedal creature emerging from the wreckage of a shuttle in the Nevada Desert. The mother appears to be wounded and a surviving soldier Patricks and Whittmyer escort her to Whittmyer's car and prepare to escape. However Whittmyer notices something in the backseat unseen and ultimately Patricks is killed in a blast of blood as the car vanishes.

In present day 2019 geologists Ryley Brecken and Julie Bartlow arrive at a local cafe The Chrysler in Lincoln County, Nevada after an excavation as many of the diner patrons are killed and duplicated by a sudden entering figure. The remaining alive occupants manager Catherine Rosa, waitresses Genevieve Yin, Jillian Jackson, truck driver customer Jeremiah Guthrie, mechanic Louis and his Chrysler cook brother Pietro Donnelly are swept up by CIA agents Etta Guthrie and Rodney Ellis, who bring them to Area 51 for protection, as Lincoln County falls to an alien invasion.

On the inside tensions rise as warehouse director Julianne Brecken and her two sons Ivan and Wallace reluctantly welcome them into trapped safety. Ivan dies before Genevieve's eyes after trying his hand at sexual assault with Jillian as the Creature from the beginning attacks, and tears him apart, to violently consume him.
