American Horror Story: Election is the seventh season of the FX anthology television horror series American Horror Story.

It premiered on September 14th, 2017 making it the second season to premiere within this month following on from it's predecessor Roanoke. The season concluded on November 16th, 2017.

The season's plot was unveiled by creator Ryan Murphy via twitter and by always prominently featured actress Sarah Paulson of the series at a Comic-Con table discussion in February 2017.

Teasers and promotionals released for the season were heavily water themed suggesting a cruise like theme as opposed to the politics and 2016 election concepts revealed as being tackled.

The season like it's predecessor Roanoke converts in style from the original five seasons (Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show & Hotel). The season amongst it's 10 episodes is split among three primary segments and locations, the most prominent being the white house in 2017 and the other two being the dystopian streets Syracuse, New York in 2029 and the fictional cruise ship the Aqua Vale from the span of 1954-1958 and finally 1986.

Main cast members of the previous six seasons of the series return: Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy, Wes Bentley, Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Cheyenne Jackson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Danny Huston, Finn Wittrock, Jamie Brewer, Andre Holland, Adina Porter, Denis O'Hare, Leslie Jordan, Taissa Farmiga and Jessica Lange (marking her return to the series since being absent after Freak Show from Hotel and Roanoke).

New main cast members include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bradley Cooper, Billy Eichner, Riker Lynch and Brittany Snow.

The season was centrally shot at Fox's major studios in Orlando, Florida for the Aqua Vale and future Syrcause segments, as well interior white house scenes and the rest was shot in North Carolina.

Paulson, Lange and Bates reprise their roles of Cordelia Goode, Constance Langdon and Iris West respectively.

The season was met with positive reception from critics and audiences.

Washington D.C. 2017- Segment The White House - Middle

Told in a non-linear narrative format the season begins with 2017 Washington and the inner workings of the white house as President Weylan Cross a secretly transitioned man of deep corruption, bigotry, misogyny and even deeper insecurities has assumed presidency through a fixed 2016 election. Weylan holds loyal support from his followers, chairman Abernathy and chancellor Miriam Fields. His secretary Donna Bullock of already reluctant servitude discovers his secrets, including his allegiance to a cult titled the Mark of Abel. The cult led by Dagon Illisted perform cult sacrifices, racist hate crimes with connections to neo-nazis and all formations of the KKK. They worship pandimensional beings of a superior race hailing from the universe beside earth and humanity's, just beyond the space between space (the extraterrestrials of Asylum) that manufacture perfect humans to lead the second coming. Donna aligns with chief of staff Robert Krumbie, chief of staff heir in training William 'Bill' Krumbie, Senior Advisor Valerie Whitman, Weylan's middle daughter Isla, her friend Tamara Feldman, boyfriend James Fields and Brenda Chapman whom all belong to the Mark of Abel and are in fact Lycaons (individuals imbued with the blood of rabid wolves permitting them the abilities of heightened strength, sense and movement, which in the case of leaving adolescence permits them the full ability transformation into a wolf life human).
